Shocking knife fight between famed Lucali's pizza man, reputed mobster erupted over a woman
Annette Angeloni was reportedly the cause of a knife fight between pizza maker Mark Iacono and Battista (Benny) Geritano.
"You ever hear of Nat King Cole?" Brooklyn Federal Court Judge Sterling Johnson asked prosecutor Jack Dennehy.
"He had a daughter who came out with an album "Stardust" and there's a song, 'If it ain't there, it ain't there.'
"It ain't there, counselor."
Battista (Benny) Geritano (left) was arrested in April for allegedly stabbing Lucali's pizza shop owner Mark Iacono.
The judge, paraphrasing the tune "If Love Ain't There, It Ain't There," dismissed Dennehy's argument that Battista (Benny) Geritano should be held without bail because he is under investigation for a bank burglary.
Geritano -- on supervised release for a past federal robbery conviction -- was arrested two months ago after a vicious street fight with Lucali's pizza maestro Mark Iacono that left both men with stab wounds.
A source close to the case said the brawl was over a woman - Geritano is dating Iacono's former girlfriend, Annette Angeloni.
The raven-haired beauty showed up in court and shook her head as the prosecutor argued that Geritano could get physical therapy for his surgically-repaired hand in jail.
Johnson agreed to defense lawyer Steven Kartagener's $2 million bail package which includes house arrest.
Iacono's lawyer declined comment.
Geritano and Iacono face criminal charges for the fight, but that case is expected to be dismissed since neither is willing to testify before a grand jury.
